With an eye on the formative years, NBFA will open an evidence-based Early Childhood Center serving three-, four- and five-year-olds on its urban campus. The NBFA Early Childhood Center will serve as the feeder for NBFA elementary school, which uses an emotionally responsive practice model best suited for urban children in infancy through grade 6.

Attention:
The Connecticut State Department of Education strictly prohibits the practice of enrolling a student in more than one or more magnet or charter school at the same time. Anyone caught dually enrolling their child/ren, may lose their slot in both institutions.

Who is Eligible?: Any resident of Connecticut is eligible to participate in the NBFA Lottery. Applications are accepted for children entering pre-school (potty-trained 3- and 4-year-olds) through the 8th grade. NBFA currently enrolls 499 students from Bridgeport and surrounding communities.
Open House: New Beginnings Family Academy offers a virtual peek into its turn of the century school building directly off Interstate-95 in Bridgeport.
Siblings: Families of students currently enrolled are given sibling preference. Please make sure to fill out an application for any siblings wishing to enroll.
The Wait List: The Wait List will remain in effect until all seats are filled. New applications must be submitted each year, as names on the Wait List will not be held over to the next year’s lottery.
