New Beginnings Family Academy Celebrates SEL Day!

BRIDGEPORT, CT (March 11, 2022) - New Beginnings Family Academy (NBFA) today celebrated International Social Emotional Learning (“SEL”) Day with the second annual “One School, One Read, One Quilt!” event, a new tradition after the successful launch last year. At NBFA, which follows a relationship-based model called Emotionally Responsive Practice, students bonded during the read aloud and began a quilt-building project sponsored by the Tauck Family Foundation, a long-time partner of the school.

New Beginnings Family Academy Announces New Early Childhood Center

BRIDGEPORT, CT (October 6, 2021) - On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, the State Board of Education approved a request for New Beginnings Family Academy (NBFA) to open its own Early Childhood Center, paving the way for the public charter school district to increase long-term student learning and developmental outcomes by focusing on the formative years.

BRIDGEPORT, CT (March 26, 2020) – “One School, One Read, One Quilt!” is the theme of New Beginnings Family Academy’s (“NBFA”) celebration of International Social Emotional Learning (“SEL”) Day. International SEL Day recognizes the various strategies and techniques used by educators around the world to teach social-emotional skills and support student well-being in their classrooms, schools, and homes.

CEP Public Release 2019-2020

New Beginnings Family Academy is participating in a Free Breakfast and Lunch program for the current school year 2019-2020. This alternative is referred to as the Community Eligibility Provision. All students enrolled at the following school(s) may participate in the School Breakfast Program and the National School Lunch Program at no charge. Household applications are not required to receive free meals, but applications may be distributed by the school to collect household income data for other programs that require this information.

New Beginnings Family Academy Welcomes Back Roree M. Warnke

BRIDGEPORT, CT (August 5, 2020) - New Beginnings Family Academy is excited to welcome Roree M. Warnke back as Chief Development and Communications Officer. Warnke brings over 20 years of development experience, most recently with PBS (Vermont). Prior to that she had worked in Connecticut for NBFA and the National Audubon Society. She also brings experience from the Pesticide Action Network (California), The Redress Trust (London), and Amnesty International USA (New York).
