Summary:
New Beginnings Family Academy (NBFA) seeks a seasoned Fundraising/Development Consultant to lead strategic fundraising efforts that will significantly grow the organization’s donor base and support its mission. The Consultant will execute development strategies to achieve NBFA’s FY26 fundraising goal of ~$450,000 to help close the organization’s operating budget gap. The role focuses on donor cultivation, grants, and events to expand NBFA’s fundraising impact. This is a consultant engagement opportunity for a results-driven fundraising professional who is passionate about advancing education equity and community impact.

Reports to: Interim Director

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Fund Development
• Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan to achieve and exceed board-approved goals.
• Collaborate with the Board and Development Committee to cultivate and secure major gifts.
• Prospect, solicit, and secure corporate and foundation grant support.
• Plan and manage fundraising campaigns and special events.
• Oversee grant management, including applications, compliance, reporting, and acknowledgements.
• With an eye on fundraising, build and strengthen NBFA’s volunteer base, creating meaningful engagement opportunities.
• Maintaining accurate donor contact records and reporting progress regularly.

2. External Communications
• Partner with NBFA’s Communications Consultant to align messaging with fundraising priorities.
• Manage preparation and distribution of donor communications, including direct mail and digital appeals.
Benefits
• Base Fee: $60,000, payable in monthly installments.
• Performance Bonuses: Eligibility for tiered fundraising achievement bonuses and new donor acquisition incentives.
• Timeline: 12-month engagement.
Requirements
• 5–10 years of demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising and donor cultivation.
• Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with donors, board members, and community partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a donor-centered approach.
• Reliable self-starter with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of nonprofit best practices and ethical fundraising standards.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
