New Beginnings Family Academy is committed to the safety of our students. Here are a few reminders when it comes to severe weather conditions.

Cancellations and Delays

For winter weather delays and cancelations, New Beginnings Family Academy follows the Bridgeport Public Schools schedule. If they are delayed or canceled in the winter then so is NBFA. For heat-related delays or closures, NBFA will often NOT follow the Bridgeport Public School schedule as our school is airconditioned.

Once a weather-related school delay or closure is determined, communication will be relayed to parents by PHONE. (Please make sure your phone records are up to date with the front office.)

Delays and closures will also be posted on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.

If a school delay has been issued, buses will operate.

If you are unable to receive the automated message or access the internet, please tune into any of the major television or radio stations.

RADIO: WCUM-AM 1450(Spanish), WICC-AM 600, WEBE 108 FM,STAR 99.9 (WEZN)

TELEVISION: CHANNEL 2, 6, 8 and 12

Electronic Communication

As a reminder, NBFA's primary method of communication is digital (e-mail, websites, internet, cell phones). In the event that those systems are impacted (power outage, cell towers are down, etc.), we will try every avenue possible to keep the families of our community informed.
