Fourth graders march to McLevy Green to bring Christmas cheer

New Beginnings Family Academy's fourth-grade students took to the streets Tuesday to bring holiday cheer to downtown Bridgeport on a cold winter day.

Students and teachers from the state's first and only progressive public charter school, walked the one mile from NBFA's Garden Street campus to the historic McLevy Green to sing four Christmas songs.

A large group of parents, teachers and passers-by enjoyed the sounds of the season as the children belted out hits such as Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You," Run-DMC's "Christmas in Hollis" and "Jingle Bell Rock."

Friday is the student's last day of school before leaving for the holiday break.
