About Miss Root:
My favorite part about teaching is watching my students grow to love learning! While completing my bachelor’s degree at Eastern Connecticut State University, I spent my time coordinating a mentoring program at the local elementary school. I have dreamed about becoming a teacher since I was a child, and completed my student teaching in a second grade classroom this past year. Nothing is more rewarding to me than watching my students learn new concepts! When I am not teaching, I can be found working at the gym, volunteering, or relaxing at home with a good book.

Why New Beginnings Family Academy?
I believe that the best way to teach my students is by building positive relationships and identifying their unique learning style. NBFA has a sense of community and closeness that I truly value, and I look forward to working in a school with a positive student and staff culture. Teaching the whole child is something that I strongly believe in, and I look forward to watching my students grow as educated and active members of society!

About Ms. Brown:
Hi, my name is Suzanna Brown. I am instructional assistant in 2nd grade. I am currently a senior at University of Bridgeport where I’m pursuing a career in Education/ Psychology. I have a big heart so that’s why it is inspirational for me to teach children the importance of self-value, respect and love.

Why New Beginnings Family Academy?
New Beginnings Family Academy believes in working together as a classroom family, where we will be spending a lot of time together, so it is important to treat each other with respect, kindness and compassion. Also at NBFA every student is treated different which means you think and learn differently.
