Data Specialist

Classification:                   Full-Time/12-month

Summary:  The Data Specialist is a non-supervisory position primarily responsible for ensuring that NBFA operates its programming at high levels of quality to optimize student learning. The Data Specialist’s primary role is to measure NBFA’s actual outcomes against intended outcomes and key quality indicators.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Manage NBFA’s performance management data base for the purpose of tracking and reporting organizational outcomes
  2. Develop an organizational learning framework and ensure ongoing quality improvement
  3. Help design and implement the performance management data system to track all state requirements and academic goals and objectives
  4. Develop, implement and maintain data integrity standards
  5. Work with staff to develop and implement expectations for data usage to review the quality and effectiveness of their work
  6. Interpret data and effectively communicate results to various stakeholders
  7. Generate and disseminate relevant reports to appropriate staff on a weekly basis, at minimum
  8. Prepare federal and state statistical reports including, but not limited to, the OCR, PSIS and TCS 
  9. Various tasks and duties as assigned by the CEO and Chief Academic Officer

 

Certification, Knowledge and Skills:  The Data Specialist must:

  1. Minimum of Bachelor’s degree and at least 3-5 years related work experience

  2. Expertise in statistical functions and outstanding analytical and research skills

  3. Strong communication and presentation skills 

  4. Ability to appropriately manage highly-confidential information

  5. Self-directed individual with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  6. Creative, results-oriented team player with demonstrated collaborative skills

  7. Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail

  8. Ability to perform under deadline

  9. Computer literacy (word processing, spreadsheet management, internet, e-mail, scheduling, and database software programs)

  10. Experience in / or knowledge of the education sector preferred
